Which auto insurance company provides relatively low rates for drivers with a less than perfect driving record?

I’m an 18 year old male who has had a speeding ticket and an at-fault accident less than 0. (I know, it sucks)

I drive a 2005 Ford Mustang V6 4.0L Coupe

Ive already read all of the articles condemning me to a high premium, but is there any insurance company who is easier on bad drivers?

Say that I wanted to buy a 0k house on the gulf side. For a typical policy, what could I expect to pay per year? Im thinking of making the move from Pa and have found some cute homes in that price range online. Are the rates higher because of hurricanes? Also, does any one know about how much the property taxes are also?

I think if they are driving an automobile, motorcycle or anything else should also be charged with something like attempted assult/murder or something like that. If they are drunk enough to receive a DWI then they had no reason to be out on the road. If they are in an accident and are the cause of the accident, someone could have and might have been killed. I think the DWI charge with something else added to it would make a lot of people think before they drink, especially if they are driving because the end result would impact their life a lot more than a DWI. In this state, every year that is sentenced can be counted as 2 month in the Department of Corrections if they are good and do not cause any trouble. Sometimes, it’s not in the pen, it’s on weekends or even taken away if they enroll in a facility. What is your feeling on this subject?

The car is insured just in someone elses name, but is it illegal if you drive the car while youre (not the owner, a relative) driving it when you’re not covered in the policy?
I guess I’ll go in more detail. My mother was driving the car (which is owned and insured in my dads name). I know whenever they sign the insurance form they both sign it, but officially the insurance company said my mother isn’t covered. I know financially we are screwed because the other guys car was totalled as well as ours, but I was wondering legal-wise if my mother was breaking the law. If it helps it was in NY.

And yes I know I totally screwed up and realize this will end up being very expensive and I will NEVER drink and drive again, however I just don’t want to loose my license.

My husband only works, I am a stay at home mother of four children ( I worked for 8 years as a lab manager before having children). How much should we be saving for retirement? He is 35 years old, I am 36 years old. We currently max out his 401K at 15% of his pre-tax salary. We also save 10% post tax into an annuity type account (life insurance also). When I use retirement calculators, they usually say we should be saving only 5% of our pre-tax income actually since we started at age 26 or so, but I believe that this is only for 1 person, and we are actually saving for both of us. The Yahoo retirement calculator says we should have ,000,000 in all based on 8% return. Should this be ,000,000 instead for 2? We have no debt except for a ,000 mortgage with 9 years left. None of our friends or family save as much as we do, but are we really going overboard here with savings? Or is it better to save as much as we can now and ease up later when our children are in college?
I guess I actually have two questions: With the retirerement calculators, they ask if you are married and if your spouse has any income, but are the totals for one person or two? Also, is a total savings rate of 25% totally off the mark (too much)? My husband thinks we are saving too much, I am very conservative!
Thanks so far for all the answers. With all of our savings as is, and 4 young children with 1 income only, we really have no "disposable"spending money. Is cutting back to 10% for his 401K a good idea? Would our retirement still be "on course" for both of us? We never eat out, have not gone on vacation since we were married 10 years ago, his car is 9 years old and we would need to buy a new one soon, etc. He thinks we need to enjoy our lives now a bit more. We do also fund an HSA with about 4% pretax also each month! But we have no separate college savings plan yet.
I thought that 529 plans only had state tax benefits, not federal currently?

I have a business that is a service bureau (printed circuit board design) and I have independent contractors. I need to get insurance so that when they go to a customer site they are covered and don’t sue the customer in case of an accident or something. We recently found out we are expecting a baby and need to open a life insurance policy in case something would happen to him so we’d be taken care of. We have insurance that is paid for by his employer. How do we go about getting life insurance? Is it added to our existing medical insurance, or can we get it separately?

Site i looked at says that nationwide check might now show up county warrants so if you know what county you are looking for it is better to check that county………but i was told that going to the county courts and asking isnt good enough and you need to do a NCIC check which only can be done by police or online. Any advice ?
