I have a vacant piece of property taht has only trees on it. recently , a severe thunderstorm came through and blew over over a tree that was at the back of our property and damaged a nieghbors chainlink fence. My husband went over and removed the tree at the same time noticing that the tree was diseased. The nieghbor told us we had to turn it into our homeowners insurance. We explained that you cant put home owners ins. on vacant land and she needed to file a claim with her insurance. She now is taking us to small claims court.She claims that the tree has been dead for 4 or 5 years . As we are rarely at the property and have had it up for sale for a year. We never were aware of this! She left out the fact that a storm that blew several trees down in our town was responsible. Is this our responsibility? And if she knew the tree was dead why didnt she call with concerns? I live in florida . Can anyone answer this question.Thank you

Hey my car got towed from in front of my home it was on the street and it had expired tags, anyway i live in california the car is from Arizona and i never registered it here becuz i didnt work so i was gonna dump it. The day they picked it up i had just parked it to rearrange my garage anywho the police dep. wants me to register my car and buy insurance for a car that doesnt work so its gonna cost me more than 500 just do so the car is not even worth that much..Well My question is..its at the towing yard and what can i do if i dont want the car do i just leave it there and forget about it? or do i have to let them know im not going for it? Let me know guys if i do get the car it goin straight to the junk yard so what can i do?

I’m going to be buying a mobile home in the next 6 months in Southeast Georgia, and I’m trying to get a good range of prices for what I’d be paying in Home-owner’s Insurance. The mobile home is ,000 and we won’t have any outlying buildings. Since the mobile home isn’t at the location yet, I can’t get anybody to give me a quote yet, so right now I’m just looking for a price range so I can budget accordingly. Any help is greatly appreciated

Hello I received my first and only dwi on 7/2008 and in 9/2008 the court took my license from me at witch point I went to DMV and was given a conditional license. That is all that has happened in a year and a half.

I have paid my lawyer over 00.00 and the last time I was supposed to have court was 11/2009 and my lawyer called me as I got to the courthouse saying court was canceled because of the DA (not the first time i was told this). At that point I was already in the courthouse speaking with the clerk who told me it was my lawyers secretary who dated the paperwork wrong and there was never any court that day.

00.00 lawyer not being honest and 1 1/2 years seems like a long time to me any suggestions or help PLEASE!!!!!!! Thank you…..

I was dating a beautiful exotic dancer/video vixen/actress for several months. I am a 32 year old physician. When we were hanging out one evening, I got drunk and caught a DWI. Although I did not blame her for my foolishness, I guess in a way I resented her for not engaging in any form of prevention. In any event, after the incident, I sent her a text message telling her that things are not working out and that I need time alone. I was worried about losing my license to practice medicine. She called but I did not answer. Then, I went to California for a while and just never called her back. Recently, my DWI informed me that he needs to speak to her regarding my case. I called her number but it was disconnected. Then, I called a mutual friend who contacted her on my behalf. She called me and seemed pretty upset. At that time, foolishly, I asked her out on a date. She told me she was available the next day. However, she never called. In any event, two days later, I left her a voice message regarding her meeting with my attorney. She never responded. Now I am worried that her resentment will prevent her from helping me with the legal issue. Also, I am starting to believe I made a mistake regarding the break-up. In addition to the DWI incident, I thought she was only with me for financial gain. Now, I am starting to think that she really cared. What should I do? Should I keep trying to contact her or should I leave it alone?

I rarely drive so i don’t want to get car insurance yet, but sometimes I want to drive around with my family. So do I have to buy car insurance if my parents sit next to me in the car?

My condo is on the third floor and the elevation survey says it’s 30 ft above sea level. The first floor is 10 ft above sea level. The association insures the condo for structure but not the contents.

According to what I’ve read, NFIP covers damage only due to flooding coming from below.

Should I get flood insurance?
Why would I get renter’s insurance on a condo I own?

I was told explicitly that my homeowner’s insurance would -not- cover contents in a flood. I get NFIP to cover contents and the association pays NFIP to cover the building.

Please answer if you actually know. Thanks.
Let me emphasize, the ocean would have to rise 10 ft to even reach the door steps of the first floor because my condo is on an island and not inland.

Since flood insurance only covers water from below, the coastal areas of most of the world would be gone before it even reached my condo.

Unless flood insurance covers other types of flooding (i.e. rainfall from above going through a bad roof, water backup from plumbing, etc). Although I asked and my insurance company says homeowner’s insurance covers that part.

I have an almost nine-week old pit-bull puppy. He might be a mix but at this point I am beginning to wonder. I live in south west Florida and i was just wondering if the breed of the animal can effect the cost of having him fixed. I’ve never personally owed a Pit before but I have owned dogs before him and they were ‘tame’ breed or breeds without any ‘bad reps’. I know that some insurance companies, homeowners insurance and what not will actually increase the amount you have to pay them because of certain breeds like a Pit or a Rott or Doberman, etc… Since the insurance companies do this, i was just wondering if Vets will do this to certain breeds as well….
