I recently got into an accident and my insurance company covered a rental car. Unfortunately, there was some damage to the driver’s side door from a hit and run to the rental car. I was wondering what to do and the best way to handle this particular problem. The damage is minimal and there are a few scratches.

Termite and home inspections?

Hi, my friend purchased a home 18 months ago, which included a home inspection. Since then he has had nothing but problems. The basment and roof have been leaking and now he has a huge termite problem. Does he have any chance of suing the home inspector for the damages? Also, would the bank be interested in going after him as well since they required a termite inspection in order to approve the loan? Thanks for your help.

I just moved into a new business location. My lease states that I must list my landlord as an additional insured. Is that easy to do? Do I just call my insurance and have them add right away or do I have to wait until it is time to renew? Also, approximately by what percentage will that cause my insurance to go up? I have already had a rate increase because I live in Louisiana (Katrina). It is still affordable but I am scared that adding on the additional insured may cause it to double, which I can’t really afford.

Im worried that our current home owners insurance is not going to cover our new home. We filed a claim about a year ago for a dog bite. No money has been paid out to that yet. My dog was in my yard, tied up. The kid wanted to pet the dog, but took a stick with him just in case he bit. So anyways the kid got bit and we filed it on our home owners.

Since our current insurance company already has us covered is there going to be a problem getting our new home covered? The new home is probably going to need more coverage since we have horses. Ive been stressing about this all day and my insurance agent is going to call us back tomorrow with our quote. She said our current insurance would probably cover us but wasn’t for sure.

Another issue is that 8 years ago my husband had a different dog, and that dog bit 2x, then my husband put him down. How far back with the insurance company look.

I really don’t want to get rid of the dog, its been a year, and i don’t really feel like it was the dogs fault. will this be an issue? please no haters, please only insurance agents or personal experiences. I just can’t wait till tomorrow to find out
god THANK YOU SO MUCH CAR!!!! (: I really needed to hear some words of encouragement since we already sold our home. I hope you are right

I was in a car accident a few weeks ago… but that’s a completely different story. The other person’s insurance is refusing to pay for storage and rental fees until liability is established, with took a full week. I do not have rental coverage on my policy and I have a high deductable, so going through my insurance is not an option for us at this time, financially. Can I take the driver to small claims court for the money that her insurance company is refusing to pay (one week’s worth of storage and car rental fees)? I am in Indiana. Liability has been established — 95% thier insured. They are saying however, that from the time of the accident to the date that liability is established they are not responsible for anything. However, the adjustor that I spoke with on the day of the accident said that it would go retro, now she is saying that it will only go retro from the day that liability is established, which isn’t really retro. I would ask for what they didn’t pay, – less 5%
I didn’t word the question very well. The accident was 10/6, liability was established 10/13. They are saying that from 10/6 to 10/13 they are not responsible for any of the charges.
