In California, Does a car insurance have the authority to have a driver’s license suspended because of money owed to them? First, I had to pay for damages for the other vehicle. I paid. Now two years later they are calling again. Trying to collect money for injuries. Threatening to suspend my D.L. if I don’t pay. Is this right?

After being with Wawanesa for 12 years I let my car insurance lapse for 2 months and now have to reapply.
I am now unemployed, how will that affect my rates? Do they look at it as driving less since no job to go to or driving more since excess free time now?

I am from Ohio and have my own car insurance. I work in Kentucky (which is a ‘no fault’ state). I was in a minor car accident on my way to work the other morning. No one was injured, and the other person’s car wasn’t really damaged. It was his ‘fault’ though. He had insurance and we both gave out info to the police officer who showed up to do our report. My car, however, is damaged and will need to be fixed. I’m not very car educated but my hood doesn’t come up /stay shut correctly, something is wrong with my headlight/turn signal in the front, the front fender will need to be replaced, and the front corner/side panel will also most likely need to be replaced…and who knows if anything other than the outside of the car was damaged…. Ugh!.

Now I was told to go ahead and start anything I need to with my own insurance company, but what I don’t get is how this will differ from and accident in Ohio. Will my insurance company request payment from the other person insurance or simply pay whatever they cover of my damages? I just don’t get it.
I’ll check that out, but I’ve never heard of someone having to have plates designated by the state they WORK in as opposed to the state they LIVE in. I live in the Greater Cincinnati area so that would be crazy if everyone crossing the river back and forth to work had to get new plates for their work.

I know that car insurance for a sports car is more expensive. But HOW much more expensive?

For example, my insurance will change from a 1998 Pontiac Grand Am 4-Door to a 1993 Pontiac Firebird sports car. How much of a difference, in numbers, will it be?

Recently i have been looking to switch car insurance in order to find a better rate for not only me, but my teenage son and daughter. I have my own job, I work 40 hours a week, I have my own car pay for my own car insurance gas, and necessities ? is this legal? See the lady wants all of us, to sign a residential rental application. U think i could get approved I mean its not going under my name just going to be living in the apartment with my two friends. They don’t actually live there yet.
