A drunk driver flew through an intersection in which we were turning left on a green, yet because I didn’t have any witnesses, we were both deemed ‘at fault.’ Unfortunately, our home community did not allow for our car to sit in front of our house due to it being an ‘eyesore.’ The car had sustained much damage, but our insurance company didn’t send a claims adjuster within the first 3 weeks, so my father donated the vehicle to a local company who basically chops the car up to be sold off into spare parts whose monetary value is donated to charity. So what now? Will the insurance company void this claim entirely or will they accept the photos as evidence of frame damage and further head on collision damage?
Bah, of course I searched high and low to find a way to respond to each answer, of which I am completely appreciative of your promptness to my curiosity.
Just spoke to my former claims adjuster who informed me that this particular case has been given to another fishy, sigh. I rather liked our old one.
I did, however just forwarded the photos to him to be attached to our file. If interested, a photo link will be posted below.
I did a background check on the guy who had hit us, thanks to our law enforcement family members
; he is a crooked member of society! Armed burglary, MURDER charges, distribution of narcotics… and of course, the several DUI and DWI charges resulting from this accident. Either way, as soon as our insurance company has deemed their resolution, I’ll be filing a complaint with our DMV in regards to his lack of insurance.
Again, thank you for your help!
