I’m considering a move to Florida sooner or later, but I wanted to ask a quick question about insurance.
I’m in Mobile, Al., and it seems the region has had some skyrocketing insurance costs, both premiums and deductables. A major factor in this is the hurricanes we’ve had in the past six years, give or take (Yes, i know there are more factors involving costs, the overall economy being no small part).
In fact, many areas can’t even get insurance in the first place, because no company will write a new policy.
Does Florida have the same problem? In the past decade, the state has seen much more of its share of natural disasters than my home (my city hasn’t had a direct hit from any of the major storms)

I don’t earn any income from my former employer. Since I am on LTD, the company allows me to receive health insurance provided I pay the premiums monthly.

I filed a commercial insurance claim on my truck that was stolen. The claim is still being processed after 6 weeks. I paid the policy until the end of month and stop paying it. Is the claim still valid, if I stop paying the premiums for it? They offered me a settlement about 2 weeks ago and I did not accept it. They will not return my phone calls and let me know what is going on with the claim. Don’t know what to do next?

I’m not too familiar with the new health reform in the United States, but I think all Americans have to get health insurance in 2014? Anyway, I’m looking to get health insurance and wondering if the premiums are tax deductible.

I just had my second violation (turning right on a do-not-turn-on-red) last night and I am afraid my premiums will go up. Do you think Geico is a bit more "liberal" in this category?

Hi. We recently had a wind/thunder/rain storm (North Texas) which blew down the fence around the yard. My deductible is 00. Estimate to replace the fence is 50. I’d like to file a claim with my insurance company but I’m afraid my premiums will increase if I do. I talked to my agent and he said if I file a single claim my premiums WILL increase. Does anyone have information that this is true? It seems ridiculous to me that I carry insurance if I can’t use it without paying MORE to carry the same insurance. Please advise.

Insurance companies participating in the Federal Employees Health Benefit Program are allowed to raise premiums significantly even when federal retirees (disability retirees included) even when retirees do not get a raise. Why not enact legislation that prevents this? Our premiums have increased more than 0 per month. Can you tell me why?

I received multiple quotes from various agencies or companies for multiple cars, some had a lot different premiums than the other one, even $ 800 to .000 difference on 6 months policy on same coverages, my question I wanted to ask, does it make a difference where you buy it from ? does the big names of well known Insurance companies costs more ? thanks for your opinions,
